Colombo, January 02 (Daily Mirror)- The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will contest the upcoming elections, including the Local Government and Provincial Council elections, under the ‘Chair’ symbol, SLFP general secretary Duminda Dissanayake said today.
He told the media after commencing work for the New Year that 2025 will be an election year and invited the leftist groups to join hands with the SLFP.
SLFP Chairman Nimal Siripala De Silva said they will begin a new journey in the New Year while strengthening the party by amicably resolving various rifts within the party.
He said the SLFP has planned to launch a special programme to strengthen the party and invited all SLPErs who have joined other parties or given up politics due to various reasons, to join hands with the party in this effort.
