SLPP Loyalist Jehan Hameed gets SLPP post
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Loyalist, Jehan Hameed has been appointed as the Chief of Staff of the SLPP party head office located in Nelum Mawatha in Battaramulla, sources said.
It was earlier reported that the appointment was made by SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa but when contacted, Hameed said the appointment was a decision by the party leadership. The party is yet to however officially acknowledge Hameed's appointment.
In a FaceBook post, Hameed said that she was pleased to have joined the SLPP Headquarters to "be more hands-on with steering the party in a progressive direction."
"Looking forward to working with leaders and loyalists to make SLPP a winning force for Sri Lanka. This country deserves better," she wrote.
Hameed however has held no past notable political appointments.

@GHT- please note there were two kingdoms - a southern Sinhala kingdom of king Rajasingham and in the north east a Tamil kingdom ruled ny king Changilian. Both Kings fought against the British.
