SLPP MP S.M. Chandrasena vows support to Ranil

Colombo, July 30- Despite a significant portion of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MPs deciding not to support President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the upcoming Presidential election, SLPP parliamentarian S.M. Chandrasena has officially pledged his support to President Wickremesinghe.

This was announced during the SLPP Anuradhapura District Committee meeting held today.

All of you and us need to Support a 5 year plan of action (a sub section of a longer 25 year plan) to develop this nation. Not individual faces. How does Ranil or AKD or Sajith or SF or Wijedasa or Dammika or anyone for that matter want us to measure them at the end of 5 years. What are the differences of citizens services in other countries and in our country. Do we have to spend half a day to get a job done in a govt office whereas in another country the service will be online or within minutes. What are the growth and export drive plans? By how much will you reduce the government staff cadre? By when will you reduce the income tax (APIT) rates to say 24% and the non tax treshhold to 180,000? Can this be committed to be done by 2025 April 1st?

This now seems like a game plotted by MR and RW. Our RW jolly well knows that he will lose more votes if he sits with MR and his family and therefore, he comes forward as an independent candidate and indirectly having some SLPP fellows supporting him. Whatever you do, RW will be a goner by 21 Sep

Join Ranil is the only option for these politically orphaned old politicians. Ranil will be in active politics max another 5 years. And these all old politicians will go home together , until then they need a string to hang. However for young politicians join UNP or SJB no future for them. No leaders in both parties. We need leaders for the country including cricket as well.

RW needs to understand that a SLPP member joining means he has to lose minimum 25,000 votes. It is always good to keep these serpents away so peace loving people can stay with him. SLPP decision of not supporting RW has actually strengthen his vote base.
