SLPP decides to sack Prof. G. L. Peiris

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has decided to remove Prof. G. L. Peiris from his post as the President of the party, the party said.

Party’s General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said that the members of the party’s executive Council unanimously decided to remove Prof. Peris.

Time for this prof to retire from politics and relax at home reading some books or writing some books ...it is high time for him to do this .. Politics needs some energy; clarity of thought and mindfulness as well ...aging process takes all this bit by bit ..you have done your service to this country as Prof and as a politician as well . We appreciate all that but we would like humbly request you give away your place to some one who is young and energetic.
