The SJB should have favoured a more intelligent and articulate man as opposition leader. But it probably plays a role that the opposition leader is entitled to the same perks as a minister, although these will probably not be as generous as before.

If you stop blindly believing the NPP AKD rhetoric and seek facts and figures you will realise that even in the past the parliamentarians' only had these very same perks! Check websites such as parliament.com and wikipedia and you will note. The budget that has got abused is the Police budget to allocate more police to the VVIPs beyond whats allowed in the constitution. If we as citizens dont spend time digging for facts and analysing, we will vote Chandrika, with hope then Mahinda with hope then Gota with hope and it will continue. Make 2024 the last election where nonsense was stated and nothing worthy was promised by our leaders and yet we believed them.

Ravi K is the best leader of the Opposition Friday, 22 November 2024 06:52 AM
Mindless loyalty to Sajtih by so many fools is what caused the rejection of the Sajith. As UNPer I know that Ravi K is much better for opposition leader than Sajith has ever been. Sajith is old guard with outdated mindset. Public deserves better than him for Opposition leader.

He got 145,000 votes while Ranil did not contest to come from the rear door as he could not get elected last time with just 10,000 votes. It is the bottom line and can't compare with Ranil by any sensible person unless he is a hypoctritical person.

Don't become another Ranil living in the opposition and coming from the back door.

As long as Sajith remains the leader of SJB, they will remain in the opposition.

His dictatorial Shakespearean parlance, marinated in a dubious Scottish brogue, orchestrated an electoral catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions, thereby cementing his magnum opus, the illustrious title of probably Sri Lanka's longest standing leader of the opposition, a feat unrivaled in the annals of bonkered Sri Lankan political history.

We will make a permeant OL (opposition leader) position for you unless you support the Pin allowances for MPs and past Hora presidents and their families!

Sajith time has come to build your self up, look at the new parliamentarians they have positivity in their movements, actions, talk and the bright future of a great Lanka. Take an example then you could be a efficient leader.

Sajith, you have been gifted a golden opportunity to rebuild a respectable Opposition party. Please don't squander it by bumbling and fluffing about - display some guts, address the real situations with real remedies and most importantly, mean what you say. Good luck!
