Sajith is losing control of SJB: Palitha Range Bandara
Colombo, Feb 13 (Daily Mirror) - Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa is witnessing an erosion of control within his party, Samagi Jana Balwegaya (SJB), as several prominent members have conveyed their willingness to support the President, UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara said today.
"The door is open for Sajith to join the UNP if he wants to survive. There is no reason for our leader to reject Mr. Premadasa into the party while he is currently working with his onetime rival, SLPP," Range Bandara added.
"Some prominent members of the SJB have informed us that they are willing to support President Wickremesinghe and that they would leave the party at the right time. Therefore, the SJB leader will lose control of the party before long," UNP General Secretary told a briefing.

The UNP is a zero percent party, where only members of other parties who have given up their political minds a long time ago enter! The SJB, which often acts aimlessly politically, also has such members because it has the "weak" party leader Premadas, who more or less randomly accepts new questionable people and behaves helplessly towards other members who tend to change!!! The SJB urgently needs a change in the party leadership, towards Sarath Fonseka, who has the necessary leadership ability, strength and assertiveness to clean up the party, establish internal unity and bring the party into government responsibility or co-responsibility in a goal-oriented manner!! !

@Surain, What common people are you referring to friend? The Common people know that there is no foundation for the SJB which is registered Under Diana Gamage who is a minister in the Govt. She can just pull the legal plug and all the good guys in SJB will be washed away. Secondly the SJB is Led by a half-grown leader who thinks walking in his fathers shoes or slippers will hoodwink the Common people like before. By the way, nobody is attacking the SJB. Its just getting unmasked in front of the common people by its leader himself.

Some very worrying of internal conflicts in SJB, but we see only few who think they are more important,like SF and rajitha, making problems to grab more powers but for public they just minions but SP must find strong tangible promises to counter NPP already given,for example NO perks to any parliamentarians,could be difficult to digest but this bankcruptcy is politicians corruption so they cannot ask perks when common man down with hunger

Dear Wiraj, I am supporting Fonseka because, as I have emphasized several times, he is the best presidential candidate in every respect ! I know his life story well, he is neither authoritarian nor vindictive, buta convinced democrat who has authority and high levels of competence ! I said elsewhere, there are worlds between him and Gota !!! You can't compare them in any way !!! After the phase of criminal politicians SL needs a strong president who will ,,clean up,, eliminate corruption and enforce the will of the people !!!

@Chitral - Going back to history didn't we see that 6.9mn were enchanted by Gotabaya charisma and what happened, at last the public livelihoods were devastated. The same thing is happening today with the NPP who have enticed the females and others are overwhelming in Joy which they will have to eat humble pie. For ex. when the JVP which consists of some NPP members garnered several seats Tissamaharama was a stronghold and there was lot of hanky panky taking place at that time. Always there is a saying when people cannot manage small things how can they run big things of a country. On the other hand consequent to Sajith's father taking over leadership always he supported the grassroot level people today we see the garment industry, road network, Janasaviya etc. Whilst each voter can decide to whom to vote remember if the NPP is given power the whole country will have to pay the price exponentially worst than the price the public are paying today!!!!!!!

@Terrence K, your point is well taken, but respectfully, NPP or JVP were not in this dialog and they should not be brought into prominence like this. Respectfully again, the question is the capability limitation of the SJB leader. What his father did in the 1984 or so has no bearing in 2024 and beyond - 40 years later, because that old wine cant be sold forever even in a slightly new bottle. The world is changing so rapidly just like the needs of the country.

Genes are not about ineventabilities they are about potential and vulnerabilities. Genes are not a fate of a person, if they change their lifestyles you change your genes so why not give it a try.
