Colombo, September 18 (Daily Mirror) - The Education Ministry is ready to provide China-aided school uniform fabric for 2025 before the school vacation on January 20, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.

Following discussions held with the Chinese Ambassador and relevant officials of the Chinese government, the Chinese government is to package and provide all the required uniforms for 4.3 million schoolchildren and robes for 825 pirivenas before the 2025 new school term as a grant.

Accordingly, the first stock of uniform fabric will be received on November 13. The second stock will be received on November 21, and the third stock on December 20.

By providing these uniforms 100% free of charge, the government will be able to save Rs. 7,000 million. The uniform fabric stock is scheduled to be distributed before January 20. 

Minister Premajayantha said he wished to express his gratitude to the Chinese government and the Chinese ambassador for this grant.
