Senior DIG Nilantha placed on compulsory leave

Colombo, July 18 (Daily Mirror) - Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena has been placed on immediate compulsory leave by the National Police Commission today, amidst ongoing investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks.

The decision to place Jayawardena on leave is part of the disciplinary proceedings currently underway. His leave will continue until the conclusion of the investigations, according to sources from the National Police Commission.

First and foremost his epaulets should be taken off since he has failed in his duty in avoid a carnage of innocent people worshipping at Churches as well as the many foreigners who were denied of their lives. What have the politicians and law enforcement officers done for a long time just mollycoddling the culprits behind the Easter Sunday disaster. The members of the Catholic Church are agitating that justice should be done irrespective of one's political standing or otherwise as many are waiting for a ray of hope with new politicians taking power with this election!!!!!!!
