Several changes in coastal line time table: Ruhuna express train to start from Beliatta tomorrow

With the commencement of the new year, the Railways Department has made several amendments to its time table on the coastal line.

Accordingly, the 'Ruhunu Kumari' express train which departs from Matara will start from Beliatta from tomorrow.

This train is scheduled to depart from Beliatta at 5.25 a.m from tomorrow.

The Sagarika Express train, which operated only on weekdays, is scheduled to run on Saturdays as well for the convenience of commuters.

The train that operates from Maradana to Payagala South at 08.35 pm on weekdays has been extended to Aluthgama from tomorrow (January 1).

Likewise, the train operating from Maradana to Aluthgama at 02.00 pm is scheduled to depart from Maradana to Aluthgama at 01.55 pm from tomorrow.

Northern line should start from Mt. Lavinia with stops at Wellawatte, Bambalapity, Colpetty, Fort, Ragama and other busy cities up to KKS AND VICE VERSA.

This is crazy time table by crazy idiots working in railway department. Inefficiency, delays and lack of modernisation for current demand. All the express long distance trains should start from outside Colombo during peak hours. Regular slow trains should run between Colombo and moratuwa , gampha in efficient manner each train should stop alternating stations. We must forcus on efficiency

If Ruhunu Kumari starts from Beliatta it will be carrying additional passengers. To meet with that demand the train must have at least 3 more carriages

our train service is in a mess of sorts, and maintenance is far from normal. Countries around us have seen much more improvements and even passenger convenience and comfort much improved. Even the Ratmalana workshop, once a icon, is now deteriorated.
