Shammi Silva assumes office as Asian Cricket Council President

President of Sri Lanka Cricket Shammi Silva has officially assumed the Presidency of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Silva brings extensive expertise to the role, having served as the Chairman of the ACC Finance & Marketing Committee for several years.

“It is a great honour to lead the Asian Cricket Council. Cricket is the heartbeat of Asia, and I look forward to working closely with all member nations to elevate the game, provide opportunities for emerging talent, and strengthen the bonds that unite us through this beautiful sport,” Silva said.

On behalf of the ACC, Silva also extended heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing President Jay Shah, for his exemplary leadership and significant contributions during his tenure.

There is a conflict of interest in this appointmant where Sri L anka Cricket for some mysterious reason is run by the former Secretary of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) Jay Shah) who is also the current President of the ICC who has immediately rewarded shammi Silva the President of Sri Lanka Cricket in return this high position as the President od the ICC. The very close links between Shammi Siva of SLC and Jay Shah of BCCI came for scrutiny under the former several times but was swept under the carpet without a thorough investigation because billions of dollars was changing hands.
