Showers likely in Ampara, Batticaloa, Hambantota districts during morning



Colombo, March 12 (Daily Mirror) - Showers will occur at a few places in the Colombo, Kalutara, Ratnapura, Galle and Matara districts in the evening or night, the forecasting division of the National Meteorological Centre said.

They said a few showers are likely in the Ampara, Batticaloa and Hambantota districts during the morning. Mainly dry weather will prevail in the other areas of the island.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

Meanwhile, showers may occur at a few places in the sea areas extending from Hambantota to Batticaloa via Pottuvil, the Centre said.

Winds will be north-easterly in direction and the speed will be 30 kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 45 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts, extending
from Colombo to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar, and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota can be fairly rough at times.
