Sinister move to create ethnic unrest: Minister

Parliament, December 04 (Daily Mirror)-Investigations have revealed that a certain political group is out to create ethnic unrest between the North and the South, Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today.
"This group is engaged in uploading fake posts on social media. Some of the videos that have been uploaded are clips of Mahaviru commerations held overseas a few years ago.There have been more than 244 Mahaviru commerations in the North but only ten of these ceremonies had displayed the LTTE flags and logos," the Minister added.
"Our stand is that families can hold ceremonies to commerate their deased relatives but they cannot exhibit LTTE flags or logos as it is a banned organisation," he also said.
He said few people have been arrested for uploading fake posts on social media which include a defeated candidate from the New Democratic Front.
