Sri Lanka does not have dispersive soil or Loess Soils for such sink hole development. This is probably due to soil washing away into storm-water drainage Or into sewers. Either way, it need to be thoroughly investigated before any form of grouting and rectification works are undertaken .

Roxy sink hole took more than 2 years. The small bridge on Marine Drive near the Ramakrishna Road took four years and still not finished. Sinhalese brains are ignorant and slow and this is bound to take at least one year, mark my words.

Totally agree. Is there a regular inspection to the structures of the many apartments especially around Galle Road being carried out? Some are harp-hazard constructed and can be seen with the naked eye!
