Sinopec offers Rs. 3 concession for Petrol and Auto Diesel

Colombo, Jan 1 (Daily Mirror) - Sinopec offered consumers a Rs. 3 price concession for Petrol 92 and Auto Diesel, following the price revision introduced by CEYPETCO today.

Sinopec Energy Lanka announced its revised fuel prices, with 92 Octane Petrol and Lanka Auto Diesel offered at Rs.3 less than CEYPETCO and LIOC.

Accordingly, the price of a litre of Petrol 92 has been increased by Rs. 17, bringing the new price to Rs. 363.

The price of a litre of Lanka Auto Diesel has been increased by Rs. 26, with the new price set at Rs. 355.

The price of a litre of Petrol 95 has been increased by Rs. 38, bringing the new price to Rs. 464, while Lanka Super Diesel has seen an increase of Rs. 41, resulting in a new price of Rs. 475.

There are enough problems for our public without complaining racist about their country having USD. Thr Ceypetco dealers are unhappy because public flock to Sinopec stations, while the long time inefficient dealers fail to sell their fuel.

But their oil is imported to Sri Lanka using US dollars and sold in LKR. They may also bear exchange rate risks. At least, I believe the arrival of Sinopec not only provides us with affordable oil but also ensures a stable supply of quality products, which is a positive development.

People wanted better fuel prices or at least the choice of selecting the fuel they wish for whatever prices are being sold, and yet people are still complaining. People want everything for free apparently. Due to this LIOC profits will decrease and they will eventually need to provide fuel at lower costs by bringing their already massive profit margins down. Wait till United Petroleum and Shell come in as well, they will need to do more so that everyone can keep a fair market share. In a year or so, you will see rewards points and different types of concessions that will help everyone.
