Six Bangladeshis arrested in Seeduwa

Colombo ,October 30 (Daily Mirror)- Six Bangladeshi nationals who had been remaining illegally in the country without valid visas were arrested from a house at Amandoluwa in Seeduwa.

Police said the arrested, aged between 18 and 43 were arrested following a tip-off.

Seeduwa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.

Better in which perspective? Look at the overcrowded status every where. SL is a much better place than any other place. If people support AKD , after few years all other people created problems will be resolved.

Yes, please do these raid. Last July I vistied Negombo, too many Bangladeshis not sure if all had valid visa. Not sure why so many Bangladeshis flock Katunayaka, seeduwa and those areas. I witnessed in one hotel at Katunayaka junction was full of Bangladeshis and staying with their family and became a filthy den. I can't understand what has happened in immigration and laws. Even worst, when I was in a pub one Negombo pub employee told me that, one Bangladeshi who was in tourist visa requested for a job in that pub, and the same Bangladeshi had told, Sri Lankan immigration can be bribed as low as Rs.5000/- if there is a visa related raid. I'm pretty much sure there must many Bangladeshi's withou valid visa.

Probably working as cleaners and cooks in restaurants in Negombo area. High time the immigration officers raid these places. There are plenty of illegal immigrants.

Wherever Bangladeshis go, they indulge in illegal activities and don't respect the law of the land. The authorities should deport them immediately.

It’s better get yourself first. Keep in mind Country is bankrupt and they are in a better wicket. After all it is 3 immigrants being nabbed and that’s their duty as government servants. Who ever it be the law is law. Our people also have gone illegally. Why not get them down too. There are enough of locals trapped with illegal documents or for bad luck stuck and no way of coming back. Why not get them down too.

Agree totally. These are people who control the world in many ways. Aggressive, selfish etc. when it comes to getting what they seek. World is the witness. Sri Lanka must keep a very close eye on their activities and limit them only within the definition of a Tourist. No CHABADAS and other nonsense on SL soil.

Way too many Bangladeshi’s and Pakistanis in SL - it’s plain to see every year and needs sorting out
