(Daily Mirror) - An unbroken 94-run partnership between Chamari Athapaththu and Vishmi Gunaratne helped Sri Lanka Women saunter into the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup T20, with an emphatic 10-wicket win over Thailand Women in Dambulla on Wednesday.
Nannapat Koncharoenkai made 47, the sole contribution of significance for Thailand, who were restricted to 93 for 7 in their 20 overs, with all but one of Sri Lanka’s bowlers among the wickets.
In response, Sri Lanka Women needed just 11.3 overs to reach the target, captain Athapaththu falling a run short of a half-century.
Gunaratne was also unbeaten, on 39.
Sri Lanka will face Pakistan in the semi-finals on Friday, at 7:00 p.m.
