Sri Lankans queue in thousands for Yellow Fever vaccines

A total of around 5,000 Sri Lankans are currently waiting in line to receive the Yellow Fever vaccine as a prerequisite for their travels to the African continent, informed sources said.

According to the Health Ministry, the Yellow Fever vaccine is mandatory for citizens travelling to African countries from other nations.

Since there is a shortage of Yellow Fever vaccines currently, the Ministry of Health said that 2,000 vaccines will be delivered to the country this week.

The vaccines were purchased through UNICEF, according to the Ministry.

Sri Lanka requires approximately 6,000 doses of this vaccine to meet its current demand.
