SriLankan captain locks first officer out of cockpit

Colombo, October 14 - A tense situation unfolded aboard SriLankan Airlines flight UL607 from Sydney to Colombo when the captain locked the female First Officer out of the cockpit.

The incident however, occurred two months ago.

According to sources, it is over a disagreement during a toilet break, which left passengers and crew anxious.

Sources further said that the captain in question has been grounded following an investigation

The flight, operated by an Airbus A330, continued without further disruption, but the situation has raised concerns about cockpit conduct and safety protocols.

What investigation? Sack him for putting the lives of passenger at extreme risk! What if there was an health emergency behind the locked cockpit? Also was there bullying involved given that she was a female?

This Captsin should be fired as he is not mentally fit to fly an Aircraft. These guys could even crash the plane due to sudden anger. Fire him and give him a jail sentence . Never allow him to join another airline too.

There is something about Sri Lankans, however much they are qualified or become professionals, there yakko habits will not disappear. Whether it is GL Pieris or those Consultant Doctors who charge exorbitant rates from patients. This incident by the Captain of the aircraft is just his yakko nature taking over from civilised behaviour.

There is a safety issue if both are not in the cockpit. The Captain must be punished and send for medical examination for his behavior

He should be sack immediately! Whatever happened, he can’t be alone in the cockpit at anytime. This measures was introduced after a co pilot crash a plane in 2015 into the French Alps after locking his captain out. At anytime a cockpit crew goes out of the cockpit, a cabin crew must accompany the crew operating the plane. Hope the International Pilot Association also send out a Red Alert Note that no airline should hire him. He must be having mental challenges and definitely needs immediate medical attention. Hope the Aviation Ministry or Minister takes the appropriate immediate action as the airline is taking it lightly.

A captain should have been more compliant and should not have escalated this problem. He wanted to be a head strong headmaster instead of a pleasing character. Unfortunately an over inflated head. Lesson to learn is live and let live.
