SriLankan responds to incident involving Captain locking First Officer out of cockpit



Colombo, Oct 14 (Daily Mirror) - SriLankan Airlines confirmed today that an investigation is currently underway in accordance with civil aviation regulations regarding the incident on flight UL 607 from Sydney to Colombo on 21 September 2024. 

It was reported that a tense situation had unfolded aboard SriLankan Airlines flight UL607 when the Captain had locked the female First Officer out of the cockpit. 

According to sources, it is over a disagreement during a toilet break, which left passengers and crew anxious. 

SriLankan Airlines said in a statement that the airline is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities and that the Captain has been grounded pending the outcome of the investigations. 

Safety and compliance with all regulatory requirements remain SriLankan Airlines’ top priorities, it added.
