Parliament, Dec.1 (Daily Mirror) - State Minister Diana Gamage, SJB MPs Rohana Bandara and Sujith Sanjaya Perera are to be suspended from Parliament for a month for brawling near the MPs' library.

The report of the Parliamentary Privileges Committee which was presented by MP Chamal Rajapksa to the House recommended that all three MPs should be suspended for a month.

suspension only will not enough. Like motor traffic offences send all of them for compulsory one month classes by secretary general of parliament on how to behave inside the parliament premisses. No allowance or any other perks to be paid during that period.

Fair enough, but what foxes me is that much more hooliganism was displayed by the rowdies of SLPP in the previous parliament. Surprisingly no action was proposed nor taken then! Judging by the same standards, all those bandit thugs should have been suspended for one year at-least.

As citizens, we demand a full report here. During this timeout, people are saying they shouldn't get paid or have perks, including petrol, during this time. They definitely don't want these politicians enjoying a month-long paid holiday on the citizens' account.
