Strengthen Opposition Leader’s security: SJB MP

Colombo, July 14 (Daily Mirror) - The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) urged the government to strengthen the security for Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa indicating that US style attacks on candidates could take place during the Presidential election.

SJB MP Eran Wickramaratne told a media conference today that he had told the government to strengthen the security for Premadasa as soon as he heard about the attempt made on former US President Donald Trump’s life during a rally at Pennsylvania on Saturday.

“The government is responsible for the security of Sajith Premadasa, therefore I request the government to enhance his security,” the MP said.

There goes additional tax payer’s money as all the idiotic politicians will be requesting for this. Besides the current security arrangements, Suggest they wear body armour, helmets similarly used by the army and stand behind bullet proof glass when giving speeches. This will be at the expense of each political party as they are the ones wanting to take up this job. Remember, the country is Bankrupt and only essential expenditures are permitted
