Former national sevens and XVs player Suhiru Anthony will lead the CR & FC rugby outfit for the 2023/2024 rugby season which will kick off later this year.

Anthony played for the Bambalapitiya school for three years and in his last year in 2010, he was in the team under Keith Gurusinghe.

He later went on to play for the Sailors from 2011 to 2014 before heading to the Central Hills and playing the next six years of club rugby for Kandy SC. 

He returned to Colombo in 2021 to play for the Longdon Place club.

He represented the Junior Under 20 national outfit that toured Thailand under Shenal Dias. 

From 2012 to 2019 he represented the national XVs team while from 2012 to 2017 he represented Sri Lanka in Sevens rugby, part of the Hong Kong sevens outfit in 2017 and the team that represented the country at the Monaco Sevens (Olympic Qualification) event.
