Susil, Sagala call on MR, seek support for President at election

Colombo, July 27 (Daily Mirror) - Education Minister Susil Premajayantha, along with President’s Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayake , met Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) leader Mahinda Rajapaksa at his residence and sought his party’s support for President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential election.

Former President Rajapaksa is reported to have informed them that the party’s executive committee would finally decide on it at its meeting scheduled for Monday.

Lol. RW went in a hurry and gave the nominations as an independent candidate. Nobody knows the symbol or has any grassroot support. After learning that his trick failed now he tries to get support of pohottuwa. Even if Mahinda support ranil, the grassroot level pohottuwa voters will not vote the former enemy. Pohottuwa should field its own candidate so that they may have a chance to win at 2030. Also may have a chance to become opposition party if the npp fails heavily among floating voters. Even now the massive trend the npp gained many months ago is going down rapidly thanks to Anura, Lal and Haduns funny speaches.

An unelected, massively rejected president, who is still in power, asks an equally unelected ex-president for help and support, thereby confirming the people's long-standing suspicion of a "blood brotherhood" between two infamous allies!!! As a thoughtful, politically minded citizen, you seriously ask yourself what will become of this country if the camaraderie of such so-called "politicians for the people" can continue their mutual, responsibility-evading policies into the future!!! This must be prevented!!! The radical change in the country can only be carried out and enforced by a man like Sarath Fonseka, with strength, steadfastness and toughness towards the corrupt leadership elite!!!

This deal was agreed at least an year ago. These meetings are happening just for the public show to make it look natural. The real deals take place behind the media. Do you really think these puppets (Susil, Sagala) can cut-out a deal with Rajapakses? Rajapakses know they cannot win. They may be corrupt and criminalistic, but they are not stupid. If you cannot win, the next best option is to make their protector win so that they can enjoy their ill-gotten money for few more years. It is a tactical withdrawal. Don't be surpised even if SJB also joins hands.

Maharajano in no mans land. That is why the un blossomed bud cannot take a decision yet. All these personal friends are actually not enemies, even politically as their only hope and policy is to save their power and positions. So Maharajano got no other meaningful, viable option other than backing Ranil. Best thing they would consider, I guess is to come up with an open agreement, that IF RANIL WINS, THE PREMIERSHIP FOR A RAJAPAKSHA AND FINANCE MINISTRY FOR DHAMMIKA PERERA.
