A suspicious package believed to be containing explosive materials was recovered along a lane near Katuwapitiya Church in Negombo, which is also in the close proximity to the Negombo Mayor's residence.
The road and the adjacent area has been cordoned off temporarily to carry out a search in the area and explore the mysterious package.
The Police, the STF and SLAF are conducting further investigations.(Prasad Muthukuda)
