Parliament, June 20 (Daily Mirror)- The Suwaseriya ambulance serive has suspended its operations at Kaluwaragaswewa after two of its employees were assaulted by a group of people, MP Harsha De Silva told Parliament today.

MP De Silva said police has been lethargic when dealing with the wrongdoers.

"More than 1,000 people will be affected if Suwaseriya suspends its operation in the whole district," the MP added.

An impartial inquiry should be held why the Suwaseriya employees parked their vehicle at a distance whilst they could have blared the horn to obtain easy accessibility amidst the other vehicles that were parked and ensure that their vehicle went to the doorstep of the house where the patient was residing so that if he required CPR this could have been administered this shows that the workers were lethargic. No one will condone assaulting these workers. Also these actions of the workers could result in repercussions which could have been avoided if this matter was tactfully handled. My question is do we or do we not give priority to ambulances when the vehicle blares their horn which is complied by making way by road users!!!!

Dude! This is Sri Lanka. Half the people who own fancy cars are low life scums who does not know ethics. And the lowest of them are 3 wheeler owners, who don’t even know what a road is. If they blared the horn, the staff could have got themselves killed! Just go to the toads and check out the level of those who come in cars these days? They shouldn’t even be tolerated in bullock cart’s other than being tied to one!

@Dee - It seems that you too belong to a low life scum by calling others stupid. Even those who drive fancy cars know when a horn is blared by an ambulance it signifies an emergency since before issuing a driving licence the Police and the RMV familarise the intended drivers about the traffic rules and what it denotes. It is presumed that you may not be having a driving licence or having a driving licence issued from a passing school factory issuing licences to incompetent drivers!!!!!!!

@Dee - Comments made in general will always be taken aboard but when a comment is made as a rejoinder using the word "Dude" which is slang meaning stupid is not appropriate, but today in the West the usage is to mean "Guy or Man" which might be OK relative to the context. So no heart feelings as you have clarified!!!!!!!
