TV presenter arrested over assault

TV presenter Mahesh Nisshanka has been arrested by the Kadawatha Police in connection with an alleged assault in which an individual was stabbed.

The Police said an owner of a fitness centre at Enderamulla was admitted to the Colombo General Hospital with stab injuries following a clash allegedly between the TV presenter and the owner on Saturday.

They said Mr Nisshanka also had lodged a complaint with the Police stating that he was also assaulted.

The Police said that the 52-year-old Nisshanka was remanded till tomorrow after produced in the Mahara Magistrate’s Court.(DS)

I may be wrong. However he appears to be a decent man. Don't know what started the fight. Still got to avoid such ugly incidents. Being a media man doesn't mean you are above the law.

Mostly now media is trying to undermine the Economy of the Nation, lavish protests , take advantage and publicitydiscussing with members of the Parliamentarians in the T.V. and the members too satisfied appearing in the T.V. without showing their talentin action the growth of the nation. Only they need to satisfythemselves more people have seen their news.

For whatever reason still not known to public,mahesh remanded within few hours time.for another famous person,complaints made for killing dozens and stealing billions,still not arrested.if mahesh bribe the judge or threat him with death,judge postpone the case for six months.
