Colombo, July 23 (Daily Mirror) - A special ballot paper called "tactile ballot paper" will be introduced for the benefit of the visually-impaired voters at the upcoming Presidential election for the first time, Chairman of the Elections Commission Saman Sri Rathnayake informed a Parliamentary Committee.
He told the Sectoral Oversight Committee on an Open and Accountable Government, that several steps have been planned to facilitate the differently abled people in the upcoming elections.
The Chairman also informed the Committee that steps have also been taken to introduce 320 election related sign language vocabulary to benefit the hearing-impaired people.
