Teen dies after assault by student in tuition class

Hambantota, June 6 (Daily Mirror) - A 17-year-old student was arrested for fatally assaulting a 15-year-old student in Sippikulama, Hambantota.

The victim, a grade 10 student from Hambantota, succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack, while receiving treatment at the Hambantota Hospital yesterday.

Investigations revealed that the deceased student had gone to the Sippikulama area to attend a tuition class and a student from another school in Hambantota city had approached the class and assaulted the victim due to a dispute.

Hambantota Police are currently conducting further inquiries into the incident.

Very sad news kids are become like animals due to poor parenting for the past 3 to 4 decades majority parents have displayed very poor parenting skills and upbringing children not like the days back in 50s 60s even 70s things have changed kids have no fear feelings and respect something need to be done to surport the those children to get them back on the right track if not things only can get worse...

The main issue is the law prevents parents and teachers from disciplining them at home and in school respectively. When I was a teen I was disciplined at home and in school. These laws may be in force in other countries but we must import into our legal system laws that suit us

This case should not be considered as just to deliver judgement under Juvenile category, but severe punishment should be served to curb incidents like this in the near future.
