Thai delegation in SL to explore opportunities in renewable energy

A delegation comprising officials representing Thai agencies and private sector is in Sri Lanka to explore feasibility and understand the potentials in future cooperation and investment in renewable energy, particularly in the electricity generation in Sri Lanka. 

The delegation included officials of Thailand Foreign Affairs Ministry, Energy Ministry, Royal Thai Embassy, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, PTT Public Company Limited and Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited. 

The delegation is in Sri Lanka on the instructions of the Prime Minister of Thailand.

“We discussed the policies and plans for the electricity sector, multilateral interconnections, proposed sector reforms, investments required for RE, green hydrogen and cooperation on energy,” said Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.
