Sports Minister exposes three more letters from SLC to ICC

(Daily Mirror) - Three more leaked letters addressed to ICC Chairman Greg Barclay by SLC president Shammi Silva detailing Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe's interference in decision-making processes as Sport Minister have resurfaced as part of the latest saga in the Sri Lanka Cricket situation.

During a media briefing today, Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe said that Sri Lanka Cricket forced the International Cricket Council (ICC) to suspend Sri Lanka from international cricket.

Earlier, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa revealed in Parliament that SLC's letters to the ICC led to the country's ban from international cricket earlier this month.

This shows that they are more close to ICC than Sri Lankan Cricket itself. If they cannot do as ICC wants they complain to ICC. When whole Sri Lanka doesn't want the present Cricket board why are they clinging onto it. Just leave and don't worry about what rogues will come in. We want you'll out.

Well if there was political interference it needed to be exposed and not swept under the carpet. We need whistleblowers to expose corrupt politicians, and those who exceed their remit. Ministers in this country act as if they are above the law and cannot be challenged or exposed. Has the minister responded to the allegations again him that he had sought funds out of SLC for non SLC activities? The SLC monies are not a honeypot for non SLC activities after all.
