Colombo, August (Daily Mirror) - Thalangama police have launched an investigation after a 45-year-old three-wheeler driver was found hacked to death inside a garage at Arukpitiya in Thalangama.

Police said, the victim's throat had been slit with a sharp weapon.

A magisterial inquest is set to be conducted, but details regarding the motive or suspects have not been revealed so far.

What is our Police force doing? They hv to keep patrolling places and be very alert. They hv to also be in civil n mingle with the crowd. It is a fact that some of them simply relax and their seniors too fail to maintain discipline. We hv seen several murders recently, but arresting the culprits takes long time. Not all but most of our traffic cops bent on making quick buck reprimanding the innocent drivers and taking bribes. Without taking measures to correct these issues, there's no way our Police force can be disciplined. Minister Tiran Alles talks big but nothing happens. Hecshould be replaced at the next govt. Even the SC verdicts are disregarded by our politicians, hence where are we heading to? System change, change of govt and also new young politicians are the need of the hour as demanded by people.
