Colombo, November 1 (Daily Mirror) -  Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is forecast in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North-Central Provinces, with atmospheric conditions expected to bring afternoon thundershowers across much of the island. 

The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to take necessary precautions to reduce the risks associated with lightning during these storms. 

Meanwhile, showers and thundershowers are anticipated primarily in the evening or night time for most areas, while coastal regions in the Western, Southern, North-Western and Northern Provinces may experience rain in the morning as well.
