Tiran Alles directs CID to probe threats against Harsha de Silva

Colombo, June 07 - In the wake of claims made by Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Dr. Harsha de Silva that he has received threats, Public Security Minister Tiran Alles has directed IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon to task the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) with investigating into the alleged threats.

During the parliamentary session today (7), Dr. de Silva revealed that he has been receiving threats to his life.

This MP was only doing his job as the Chairman of the government committee investigating the practices of the Indian company VFS Global based in Sri Lanka. And he has already started receiving threats to his life. Now, the security Minister has ordered the Police to investigate. Note, this is the second time the Security Minister had ordered the Police to investigate about “threats or statements” relating to India. The earlier police investigation came to nothing , it was a comical fudge, and definitely same thing is going to be repeated this time. This is very serious, Sri Lanka ought to get foreign assistance to conduct the investigations. If Sri Lanka wants to bury it’s head in the sand like an ostrich and pretend “ we are jolly safe “ then go ahead and bury your heads and face the deadly consequences.

Harsha de Silva is the same fool MP who sang so much praises of the now disgraced Central Bank Governor, who is just another unqualified political appointee. Fortunately the true motives of the Central Bank Governor are clearly, which is get as much wealth as possible for himself from the public purse. Should have been obvious of his scam, when he demanded full contract or he would resign. Harsha de Silva cut from the same cloth just wants power, position and wealth. You should know how many scandal happen in UK Parliament, Sri Lanka place is much worse!

An extremely bad joke by the corrupt criminal Tiran Alles. This man is behind the dirty business dealings together with the questionable company VFS. First he wanted to rip off millions of tourists, now he is looting off tourists with online visas and in the future he wants to cheat Maldivian pensioners. The greed of this felon, who is already a British Pound millionaire through money laundering, has his acolytes threatening Dr. Harsha de Silva. It is quite clear that this police investigation will come to nothing. When will Ranil finally intervene and put this scumbag in prison? Apart from that, Dr. Harsha de Silva would be the most suitable for the office of President. He is still young, liberal, cosmopolitan, a financial expert, experienced in politics, not corrupt and a real democrat.

Why should the minister direct the police? If someone make a complain, police need to initiate investigation. Only in Sri Lanka, the government servants need to be directed by a politician to do their job.

How on earth did a chap like Tiran Alles end up as the Minister of Public Security???? Has he studied Defense mechanisms, Public Security and Strategy, been in any of the Armed Services, Researched and produced contributory articles in the local or international affairs? All ye knows is instructing the IGP or CID to look into matters. Where exactly is his Yukthita heading? How much of the drug menace and the underworld is squashed? OR is this all a drama to make hay till the inevitable uprooting of his lazy, publicity stunts?
