Tissa says Fonseka will be put on right track

Several Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MPs have embarked on a mission to put party chairman Sarath Fonseka on the right track, SJB National Organizer Tissa Attanayake said today.

“A group of MPs have already spoken to Field Marshal Fonseka and there are other steps that have to be taken to put him on the right track. We are sure that the Field Marshal will finally fall on the right track like MP Rajitha Senaratne,” he said.

“There are guidelines to be followed when making public statements when you belong to a political party. There are things which one should take up at the working committee meeting. We cannot come up with our personal ideologies whenever we want,” Attanayake said, referring to several public statements made by Fonseka lately.

Also he said the party will not change the original decision to field Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa as the Presidential candidate, when responding to a question raised by a journalist as to whether Fonseka had wanted the candidacy. (Yohan Perera)

The SJB should not try to get Fonseka "on the right path", but rather Premadasa to the right insight to give up his candidature for the presidency!!! Because with him as a candidate comes defeat and, as a result, a test of strength within the party!!! With Fonseka comes victory and the strengthening of opposition alliance partners!!! Sticking to Premadasa is political stupidity for which people like Tissa then have to be responsible!!! The party would sink into insignificance!!!

Unfortunately, Fonseka is a narcissist. He gets frustrated when he doesn't get his own way and others don't dance to his tune. He may have good qualities and potential but overall, he is not suitable for leadership unless it is military.
