Tough decision taken to cancel two gazettes: Harin
Colombo, Jan 28 (Daily Mirror) - Two special gazettes issued by former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe have been cancelled by the current Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Harin Fernando.
Accordingly, the special gazette number 2342/48 dated July 28, 2023, will be cancelled.
Also, the gazette notification that disbanded the interim committees, the powers, functions, and duties of the Sri Lanka Karate Federation and the Sri Lanka Motor Sports Association has also been cancelled.
According to the constitution of the National Sports Associations or Federations, the officers elected at the previous elections can be appointed before the board until their legal terms of office are over and a new election is held, Minister Fernando said.
