BADULLA (Daily Mirror) - Obstructions to the upcountry railway line near the Diyatalawa railway station caused by a rock fall have been cleared and train services are back to normal.

The railway tracks were obstructed by rocks rolling down from a nearby hill when the Badulla bound night mail was approaching, but the driver had managed to stop the train without any damage to the engine.

A senior official of the Railways Department said railway maintenance workers and the army cleared the obstructions and have brought the train services back to normal.
