Special train services will be operated on Monday (17) and Tuesday (18) to facilitate return travel to Colombo following the long weekend and the Parliamentary elections, the Railways Department announced.

In a special statement, they said that additional trains have been arranged for these days alongside the regular scheduled services.

These special train services will operate between Colombo Fort and Badulla, Kandy and Colombo Fort, Beliatta and Colombo Fort, Colombo Fort and Hikkaduwa, Matara and Colombo Fort, as well as Colombo Fort and Galle on both days.

Additionally, the Samudra Devi train will depart from Matara Railway Station at 3:50 a.m. heading to Colombo Fort.

Meanwhile, other office trains will operate as scheduled.
