Colombo, Jan 23 (Daily Mirror) - The Commissioner of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has advised vehicle users to transfer vehicle ownership to their names as it is crucial to avoid complications when issuing fine notices based on offender identification through the CCTV system.

DMT Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasingha told the Daily Mirror that if vehicle ownerships are not transferred to the active user, the charge sheets will be sent to the address of the previous vehicle owner.

Therefore, the commissioner urged vehicle users to transfer ownership to the active user, aiming to avoid inconveniencing the previous vehicle owner.

Some vehicles are sold multiple times without proper transfer, mostly on cash (not bank related) . So such persons will be effected most and will oppose this and make a big noise !

First issue the pending driving license Mr joker. Always jabbering but nothing is done properly by this joker. Many are waiting for more tha 2yrs. One of the biggest fraud by a government official and a government institute after collecting money from people.

Once fine issued its the responsibility of the vheicle owner if vheicles not transferred then produce all in court fine for not transferring plus the first fine court fee leagal fee etc...no its no buts its the responsibility of both parties to complite the sale accordingly with procedures
