Trio detained over mysterious explosion at a house in Ridigama

Kurunegala, Dec 1 (Daily Mirror) - Three individuals have been detained for 48 hours for questioning over an explosion in a house at Nikapitiya, Gallawatta in Ridigama.

The Ridigama Police initiated an investigation following information on an explosion in a residence. Initially, police arrested three individuals linked to the incident.

The arrested suspects, aged 36, 47 and 72, were identified as residents of Dodamgaslanda, Gurumada and Nikapitiya.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the affected house is an elderly man's residence.

At the scene of the explosion, the police discovered service threads and a barrel, with no reported casualties.

A government analyst has been summoned to assess the situation, police said.

The suspects were detained for further questioning after being produced before the Rambadagalla Magistrate's Court.
