Twelve train services with fuel carriages cancelled due to strike

Colombo, July 11 (Daily Mirror) - Due to the ongoing railway strike, a total of 12 train services with fuel carriages were not operated between Kolonnawa and the Katunayake International Airport.

A senior official from the department said the Railways Department incurs a huge loss due to not sending fuel carriages to Kolonnawa and the Katunayake International Airport.

Accordingly, ten fuel carriages with a capacity of 10,000 gallons each are attached to the train to supply fuel to the airport daily, the official added.
