Two Naval Intelligence officers arrested for alleged involvement in drug trade



Colombo, June 30 (Daily Mirror) - Two Sri Lanka Navy personnel attached to the Intelligence Unit have been arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy's Special Investigation Unit over their alleged involvement in a large-scale drug smuggling racket.

The Navy said the arrest was made today following an extensive internal investigation. They were arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a large-scale drug smuggling racket.

The suspects are to be handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further legal action.
