Two killed, 16 injured in road accident

Two persons were killed and 16 others injured after a van veered off the road and crashed against a rock near the Beragala Viharagala tea factory, Haputale on the Colombo-Badulla main road.

A group of people from a same family faced this tragedy while they were retuning home after visiting Anuradhapura.

The victims are residents of Retiyala, Horana.

It’s due to 1) Tired driver falling asleep on the wheel, 2) Speeding, 3) Drink driving and drugs.4) mechanical fault.

Country used to be renowned for rubber products and now not much production , current gov should make quality tires available to all people, because of high price people are cutting corners on life saving parts in all vehicles (tires and breake). Accidents happening throughout the world but in Sri Lanka way too many casualties, and many of them related to over speeding and drunk and drive. The family should celebrate new yr but instead funeral, so sad.
