Two killed at Enderamulla railway crossing

How many people are killed every years in sri Lanka ? What are causes of deaths in all accidents? Road accidents? Flood victims Drowning in sea; lakes, Wells and Rivers Fire accidents and deaths Landslides accidental deaths Industrial accidental deaths of all kinds Suicidal deaths Falling down from trees . And more death by accident take place. Most of them avoidable and yet our health and safety measures are poor and poor . As if the government officials don't care .. Only they care when this happens to their families and their bosses . Please do somethings to stop all this .. Fire some officials who don't do their duties . Fire some officials who break laws . Punish people who break laws . Educate people to prevent all these

Unprotected level crossings can have a Bell to ring and a red light to flash that can be activated by the train when passing an ear marked location, say 100meters before the crossing.

Waiting Ten or Fifteen minutes is available rather than risking one's life. People, at least now should learn from this unfortunate accident.

What a tragedy when the red lights are on and in this case sandwiched between two trains. Ideally the driving license should be canceled for those who break the law, in this case the driver itself was cancelled. Once I was stopped at a barrier less crossing when the light was on and the bell ringing. The car behind me was horning and eventually passed me scolding me. I really wished he was smashed to bits (without any damage to my vehicle of course)

RW talks about AI and Robotics at International Conferences every month as if he has struck a Eureka moment. Fix these basic but life threatening dangers by simply installing strong gates that work with lights and loud alarms, at EVERY CROSSING, urban or otherwise. Enforce a mandatory jail sentence for all law breakers.

Fyi there's no barricade and there are grasses grown above that limits the visibility while driving in endermulla railway crossway.

Damage to railway and economic cost of train delay , clean up costs, public inconvenience cost should be recovered from the couple's assets. They committed an offence which cost others money. They should not be let off easily. Anyone crossing the Railway line illegally should be subject to standard fine of Rs 15000/= if no accident happens. If accident happens the perpetrators is subject to fine plus other costs.

This rail crossing is the most dangerous one I have ever seen, the road runs pararel to the train tracks and around 90 digree sharp turn to cross the tracks. A barricade is most needed.

Next accident is in slave Island. There is a crossing where the road is in appaling condition with vehicles getting stuck in the middle. The GM railways does nothing despite several lletters.absolute negligence

Is this crossing Illegal???????? Has all boxes for safety of all Stakeholders has been checked out and Ticked-OFF!!! If not remove this crossing and moving it elsewhere to a safe location is the best!!?? Rails protruding above the level crossing road surface, sure vehicles are bound to get stuck and such accidents would happen!!!??? If these crossing should be necessary - seems trains crossing each other at this point - then they should seriously consider - Grade Separation of RAIL - ROAD PASSAGES and have Underpass for Rail!!?? No other solutions and to save valuable lives!!??
