Two killed in shooting in Mount Lavinia

Colombo, Jan 07 (Daily Mirror) - Two individuals, including a 20-year-old, were killed in a shooting at Watarappala in Mount Lavinia early this morning.

According to police, two unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on the victims while they were inside a house.

A 36-year-old man died at the scene, while the 20-year-old succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the hospital.

The motive behind the shooting is still unclear, and the Mount Lavinia Police are conducting an investigation.

It is the duty of the Govt. to take over all Guns freely roaming on the streets and provide toll free number for information who are possessing guns without licence

MANY MANY YRS AGO THEY CALLED FOR ALL GUNS TO BE HANDED OVER TO THE POLICE STATIONS EVEN THE ONES WHICH WERE LICENCED. I WONDER WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GUNS WHO'S OWNER HAD LICENCES, NOT SURE IF THEY WERE RETURNED TO THE OWNERS. GOVT NEEDS TO RECALL ALL GUNS UNLICENCED AND OR LICENCED LIKE THE GOVT WHO WAS GOVERNING DID YONKS AGO. GOVT'S ATTENTION IN THIS REGARD IS URGENT.
