UGC begins issuing university admissions students’ handbooks



Colombo, June 3 (Daily Mirror) - The University Grants Commission (UGC) has begun issuing the university admissions students' handbook for the students who are eligible for university entrance. UGC Chairman Senior Professor Sampath Amaratunga said.

Accordingly, 269,613 candidates sat for the GCE (A/L) examinations, and 173,444 students have fulfilled the basic eligibility requirements for university entrance for 2024.

The 2023 (2024) GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination was held on January 4, 2024, and the results were issued on May 31, 2024.

The students can log on to the UGC official website, www.ugc.ac.lk, and download the application available in three languages.

There is no way to obtain the students' handbooks from book shops except online.

It is said that the university admission handbooks valid for the academic year 2023-2024 is protected under the copyright laws of Sri Lanka. 

Altering or changing the contents of this handbook, printing the same for any commercial purpose, publishing and distributing the said handbook, or aiding and abetting to perform any of the said actions are legally prohibited.
