The wife of underworld figure Osman Gunasekara was arrested with live 9 mm ammunitions at her residence in Gampaha yesterday.

The Special Task Force (STF) and the officials at the Gampaha ASP's office conducted a search operation at the house at Sri Bodhiraja Road in Gampaha following a court order.

The police also found a manual of firearm technology along with 46 ammunition of 9 mm in the house. The 52-year old woman was admitted to the Gampaha Hospital due to  sudden illness and is receiving treatment under police protection.

Police said the owner of the house, Osman Gunasekara who was wanted over underworld activities is currently living abroad. (Darshana Sanjeewa)
