Vegetable prices slump today

Colombo, Feb 8 (Daily Mirror) - Compared to recent vegetable prices, today recorded lower prices for vegetables at the New Manning Market in Peliyagoda.

Accordingly, the retail price of a kilo of carrot was Rs. 700, and beans Rs. 500. However, green chillies and capsicum recorded Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,100 respectively.

Moreover, fish prices at the New Manning Market in Peliyagoda too were low today.

You are right. Comparatively price of vegetable leaves such Kankun and Mukunewenna has gone up to Rs.80/-and Rs.100/-. May be, people have shifted to eating vegetable leaves instead Carrot.
