Wanindu Hasaranga ruled out of IPL 2024

Colombo, April 6 (Daily Mirror) - Sunrisers Hyderabad legspinner Wanindu Hasaranga will miss IPL 2024 due to chronic heel pain in his left foot,  Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) informed BCCI.

Hasaranga, who last played in March during Sri Lanka's series in Bangladesh, underwent treatment by SLC medical staff. He was set to consult specialists abroad but was not cleared by SLC for IPL participation. Sunrisers coach Daniel Vettori confirmed Hasaranga's withdrawal after a consultation in Dubai.

Bought by Sunrisers for INR 1.5 crore, Hasaranga's absence is notable after a successful 2022 season with 26 wickets. He is expected to recover for Sri Lanka's T20 World Cup campaign starting June 1.
