Wanindu Hasaranga steps down from T20I captaincy



Colombo, July 11 (Daily Mirror) - Wanindu Hasaranga has decided to resign as the captain of the National Men’s T20I, the Sri Lanka Cricket said.

Hasaranga said it is in the best interest of Sri Lanka Cricket that he decided to relinquish the captaincy duties and remain in the side as a player.

“Sri Lanka will always have my utmost best efforts as a player, and I will support and stand by my team and leadership as always,” said Wanindu Hasaranga in his resignation letter.

Accepting his resignation, Sri Lanka Cricket emphasised that Hasaranga will remain a pivotal player in the nation’s international cricketing strategies.
