US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said her country expects China as the largest bilateral creditor to Sri Lanka to give credible assurance to Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring in keeping with the IMF.

Making her remarks to the press, she said that what China has offered is not enough.

She also announced the grant of an additional US $ 30 million to provide meals to school children in 850 schools. (Kelum Bandara)

Our universe comprised of only app 200 countries. If US Government is assisting 850 countries, then that may include countries other than in the world, but maybe to countries in the moon, Sun, Saturn etc. Also if the total assistance is only $30 million, on average a country would receive only about $35,000 or Rs 13 Million. In Srilanka that would be sufficient to give ONE TIME Rs 3 to each child. Is that all from the economic leadership’s generosity, or there’s a mistake with the numbers?

IMF is not a bank , their main objective is stabilizing currency and restructuring the economy until get their money back, also investigate corruption and hidden money overseas.
